Professional experience
I have a BS in Marketing from Auburn University and come from a rewarding career in
advertising and event promotions. I now enjoy working with animals and helping them to lead
a happier, healthier life.
Personal experience
"I love them all, great and small"
To say I love animals would be an understatement. I grew up with all types of animals. My
grandparents owed a small farm and I loved looking for eggs and helping my Grandpa in the
barn. In our house we had dogs, cats, fish and hamsters, but if any of our family or friends had
pets I was right there wanting to play with them. We loved when the school rabbit or gerbil
got to spend the weekend at our house. For a couple months when I was in high school I even
raised an orphaned squirrel.
In college I adopted my first dog. Koko was a 3 year old chocolate lab. After adopting her I
learned she had epilepsy and suffered such severe Grand Mal seizures that she had to be on a
strict medication schedule. I was not willing to sit back and watch her struggle with this
disease. I found a great website www.canine-epilepsy.com and they helped me help her. We
also discovered acupuncture and it helped Koko have less than one seizure a year.
Giving Back
C.I.L.R.A.
In 2000 we decided to find Koko a friend. After lots of paperwork and a home visit we
officially became a foster home. Over the next year we fostered 6 dogs, volunteered at
C.I.L.R.A. events, did home visits and eventually adopted a 3 year old yellow lab, Maggie.
Fostering is a labor of love. We found that with patience and love all our foster dogs become
great pets and found loving homes.
Anti-Cruelty Society
We love to participate in the annual Chicago Bark in Park that is a 5k walk to raise money to
fund this great organization. Not only do we walk to help raise money, but we donate as well.

Taylor - Vacation Care
Since the young age of two, Taylor has adored animals. She begged her parents for a dog and
is now the proud owner of Partner, a bi-blue colored Sheltie and Savannah, a Great Pyrenees
/ Golden Retriever mix she rescued. Taylor and Partner are very active in agility
competitions. The pair was even chosen to demonstrate the ins and outs of what it takes to
have a true agility dog at the Yorkville pet parade. Both Savannah & Partner are certified pet
therapy dogs and are active with the Fox Valley Therapy Dog Club. Taylor also is involved
with 4-H and this year, won 1st place for obedience. She has also competed in Vet Science and
has won at the state level for her project in dog nutrition. Taylor loves to surround herself
with animals and can be found working at Happy Hounds Yorkville as both a grooming
assistant and retail sales assistant.

Lolitta – Mid-day Care Specialist
Lolitta has always had a passion for animals. As a child she was blessed with an amazing
Chocolate Labrador puppy named Buster. Sadly, at the age of 13 Buster had to be put to sleep
because of an erupted tumor. Buster touched Lolitta’s life so much that she continues to donate
in his name to the Anti-Cruelty Society and the Human Society of the United States. This year
she volunteered her time with the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League, for their Rummage & Bake
Sale and their First Annual Walk for the Animals to help raise money. After years of grieving she
opened her home and her heart to Monster, a Siberian Husky. Lolita is very excited to become a
pet sitter and is looking forward to meeting your pets and giving them special attention and
love. As of February 9, 2008 she is Pet 1st Aid & CPR certified.

Amber – Mid-day Care Specialist
Amber has lived in the Sandwich area for the last 10 years, and loves the community. Since a
litter kid, she has always been around animals. She feels that a home wouldn't be a home
without the companionship of a pet. Amber and her family were a fostered home for In Your
Heart Peke and Small Dog Rescue for almost 6 years. She has many fond memories of helping
dogs that needed special care. Amber is excited to join the Home Sweet Home team and
meeting all the unique pets that we provide care for.

Sadie – Mid-day Care Specialist
Growing up there was never a time when Sadie’s home wasn’t full of pets. When she married
her husband, she knew that life wouldn’t be the same unless they had pets of their own. Now
they have two miniature dachshunds named “Oscar” and “Iggy”. Iggy is a diehard fan of
belly rubs and Oscar is competing for Worlds #1 Fetcher! Sadie and her husband have decided
that when they expand their “fur” family, they will be looking to rescue groups. Even though
she has a soft spot for miniature dachshunds, Sadie loves all animals.
